The building in which the Brasserie was housed was built in 1900. The characteristic façade is still in its original form. In the early years, it served as a hotel. Hotel De Boer sounds much older Emmenians still known in the ears. In the sixties of the last century there were fewer visitors to Emmen and the hotel was forced to close.

It was converted and the name was changed to Honky Tonk Saloon. Many fifties will still remember the name of disc jockey peter Witlox. In the seventies, the building became known as the Piramideclub. On April 1, the name changed again. Since then, it became famous as Café De Brasserie.

Owner Gerrit Zoer has converted the case four times to the requirements of this time in the last twenty years. The last and immediately the biggest renovation was committed in 2000. The Brasserie is now the busiest and most cozy café in Emmen.
